What is a SwimTrek trip?

Edited

Over 20 years we've found the best open water swimming locations in the world to create an unparalleled range of unforgettable travel experiences.

SwimTrek trips are guided small group swimming adventures in beautiful destinations around the world. There are several different experiences available, but on a typical SwimTrek trip you will join a group of up to 16 other swimmers, and spend your days swimming in amazing waters under the watchful eye of two swimming guides and a support boat.

On most trips you'll stay in accommodation near the water. Each morning, after breakfast, you'll board your support boat to reach the swimming location for the day. Each day will involve two swimming sessions (morning and afternoon), with a break for lunch between the two sessions. You'll return to your accommodation after the last afternoon swim, and have the evening to yourself - though our guests often spend the time enjoying the company of their guides and fellow swimmers.

Although a classic SwimTrek trip is a week long, with 5km of swimming each day (split over the two swimming sessions), we also have trips with shorter stays, and other trips with shorter or longer daily swimming distances - from 3km to 8km.

While the majority of SwimTrek trips are based in a hotel, with daily boat trips to the swimming locations, we also have a range of liveaboard adventures, where you'll stay onboard your support boat for the duration of the trip.

Most of our adventures are in the open water, exploring the beauty of the location you're visiting. Some of our trips are coaching camps where expert coaches helping with knowledge, training and technique. We also offer a range of swimming races in exotic locations around the world.

You can use the filters on our trip search page to find the SwimTrek adventure that is just right for you.
